Title of the thesis:Effect of plasticizers on the properties of cement composites
Summary:Bachelor thesis are focused on analyse of the current status of the use of plasticizers in the manufacture of concrete. The thesis classifies the admixtures and evaluates the effect of different type of plasticizers on the properties of concrete. In the experimental part of the thesis the effect of three selected types of plasticizers on rheological properties of fresh cement mortar and physical properties of hardened mortars was studied. There were used water reducer Pozzolith 90 (based on lignosulphonates), superplasticizer Beramen N (based on sulphonated naphthalene formaldehyde) and Berament HT 5221 (based on polycarboxylates). The experiments were carried on the cement mortars. Obtained results confirmed differences in effectiveness of different type of plasticizing admixtures. Polycarboxylates type of superplasticizer showed the highest effectiveness. The lowest effect was obtained in the case of lignosulphonate type of plasticiser. All type of plasticiser showed little effect on air content of fresh mortars and positive effect on the compressive strength of cement mortars after 28 days of hardening. The use of lignosuphonate led to decreasing of initial (1-day) compressive strength.
