|Title of the thesis:||Swaging (widening) of rubber bushings' inner diameter|
|Summary:||The thesis at first deals with history of chassis mechanisms from the view of ride comfort, definition of the NVH, need of improvement of ride comfort and ways to do so. Basic chassis elements responsible for ride comfort and handling are the metal-rubber parts -- bushings. The thesis was worked out in R&D team of company manufacturing these products. Practical part of this project deals with bushing optimisation from the view of lifetime, what in praxis means development of the part almost from zero. The design pitfalls as well as their solutions are described in this thesis. As the title suggests, it is aimed at certain production process -- so called swaging. Under term swaging we understand intentional adjustment of the bushing's dimensions after vulcanisation to balance tensional stresses of the rubber after its cool-down and shrinking. The ending part of this thesis compares results of the FEM simulation of widening with experimentally gained values.|
