Title of the thesis:Geotechnical design of slope stabilization
Summary:The objective of my work was the geotechnical design of foundation of building in landslide area, including excavations. This geotechnical design includes the slope stability analysis before and after the excavation, as well as the design of a retaining structure. The project that we worked on was the construction of an 11-floor administrative building in Bratislava region in Slovakia. The first step was the interpretation of results from the geological investigation to get input data about soil properties for geotechnical design. The simplified geotechnical model of engineering geological condition was made for calculation model. In my thesis are presented the results of slope stability analysis before and after excavation and the stages of construction of a retaining structure. At first stage the stability of the slope was acceptable but after the earth cut it was not. This was the reason that I had to design retaining structure. In my case I used pile wall as retaining structure to support the earth pressure. The length of geotechnical structure is l = 12,15 m. For stabilization I used one anchor level. Overall stability with retaining structure was analyzed. My geotechnical design has been developed according to Eurocodes and European standards.
