Title of the thesis:Cutting Stabilization
Summary:The aim of this Master thesis is a problem of a stability of slopes in cuttings. Theoretical part of thesis analyses the basic principles of actions equilibrium stability of slopes as well as loss of this stability. Influence of the water on stability is considered and surface and subsurface dewatering solutions are outlined. Furthermore the most used slope analysis procedures are briefly described and methods of slope stabilization based on their technical design and suitability of use are presented. The last chapter of the thesis deals with the practical application of these theories on actual geotechnical problem. The objective is an analysis of slope stability and design and analysis of anchored pile retaining wall for the project of R4 Košice Milhosť motorway in Slovakia. Geological conditions of the site are evaluated and results of geotechnical survey are interpreted. Finally, analysis results of slope stability before and after excavation and during retaining wall construction are presented.
Key words:stability of slope, stability analysis, methods of slope stabilization
