|Title of the thesis:||Optimization of the Oxygen-peroxide Bleaching Reactor to Maximize Brightness and Preserve Pulp Strength|
|Summary:||The main goal of this diploma thesis was to improve current state of hydrogen peroxide-reinforced oxygen bleaching tower. The five-level, four-factor experimental design method (DOE) was used for chosen parameter optimization. Factors chosen for DOE were: time, temperature, dosage of NaOH and H2O2. Evaluated parameters were: brightness, fiber strength, kappa number, hemicelluloses content and selectivity of bleaching. We found that chosen factors were in fact statistically significant and had an impact on chosen parameters. We managed to increase brightness by over 15% ISO and decrease kappa number by over 2.5 unit. We were also able to calculate optimal values of the factors to reach desired values of chosen parameters.|
