Title of the thesis:Characterization of phases in complex metallic alloys Al73-Mn(27-x)-Fex (x=2,4 and 6)
Summary:Diploma thesis by the title "Characterization of phases in complex metallic alloys Al73Mn27-xFex (x = 2, 4 and 6)" deals with study and characterization of phases in complex metalic alloys based on Al-Mn-Fe. CMAs often contain the intermetallic phases, which have complicated structure or contain quasicrystal phases. Their unusual structure and chemical composition is one of the reason of their unique combination of properties, therefore CMAs are perspective materials. The aim of present diploma thesis was characterization of CMAs Al73Mn25Fe2, Al73Mn23Fe4 a Al73Mn21Fe6 where light microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, x-ray diffraction and differential thermal analyses were used. In teoretical part, the basic characterization of CMA, their properties, application, some production technologies as well as experimetal methods are described. The above mentioned analyses showed the presence of Taylor phase in samples Al73Mn25Fe2 a Al73Mn23Fe4. This phase was found to be instable at low temperatures. In the Al73Mn21Fe6 alloy, probably decagonal phase was observed which also appears to be instable at low temperatures.
