Title of the thesis: | Object recognition using Kinect v.2 |
Summary: | Object recognition is the main task of the computer vision field, and also one of the most interesting ones. Object recognition has many applications in real life such as augmented reality, self driving cars, industrial robots and so on. This thesis first discuss a numerous of well know object recognition algorithms and techniques which are based on local feature extraction and description process. Then a modified version of the analysed algorithms will be proposed while using a Kinect v.2 3D sensor. This sensor produces a full HD RGB image data along with additional depth data which provides a notable extra information to local descriptors. The algorithm will be implemented with usage of open source libraries like OpenGL and OpenCV. Finally there will be presented a performance tests with comparison to other well known descriptors. |
Key words: | Object detection, Kinect, OpenCV, computer vision |
