Title of the thesis:Design of Integrated Photonic Devices
Summary:Design, simulation and optimization of useful photonic element - AWG device is presented in this diploma thesis. The design was done by design and simulation software RSoft's Photonic Component Design Suite tools. BeamPROP, MOST and AWG utility from this design tools were used for design, optimization and simulation of the AWG device. The theoretical design, parameters and dimensions calculation, simulation and optimization AWG device according to the parameters entered in the diploma thesis - 8 channels, wavelength spacing 100GHz, central wavelength 1550 nm, insertion loss less than 3dB, uniformity better than 1 dB, adjacent crosstalk less than 30 db is reported in the next part of diploma thesis. The final part of the diploma thesis provides simulation results according the calculated parameters and also after adjustments, optimization and iterations. Parameters of designed AWG device were evaluated from the simulation results and compared with the required parameters by diploma thesis. From the comparison, it is clear that the designed AWG device fully complies with the required parameters.
