Title of the thesis:Experimental investigation of the mechanical properties of the models produced by FDM technology after application of the surface treatment
Summary:The goal of this diploma thesis is an experimental investigation of the mechanical properties of the models made using FDM technology after the application of different surface treatments. The first step is an introduction to FDM technology and the analysis of the current situation of using surface treatments on the printed models. The next step is a complete design of the experiment. It is followed by the implementation of acetone vapor etching and applying a special solution to samples made on a 3D printer. Acetone vapor deposition is performed under different conditions and in different environments. The samples are made of ABS material at two different heights of the layers. In the final part the mechanical properties, the surface roughness and the change of the sample size after applying the alterations were evaluated. The annexe contains complete data about the changes in the dimensions of all samples after application of surface treatments.
