Title of the thesis:Economic evaluation of the use of small wind turbines
Summary:The aim of the thesis is the economic analysis of various proposed alternatives of electricity generation using wind energy, or its combination with other sources. In the introductory part of the thesis is a theoretical framework for renewable energy sources, with a focus on wind energy. Based on data from the Slovenský hydrometeorologický ústav there are considered windy conditions in Bratislava. There are described the basic wind power systems, autonomous systems and systems connected to the network. Practical part of the thesis begins with an overview of currently available wind turbines on the market. The models are then compared with each other from different perspectives according to the characteristic parameters. The final section developed three alternatives for power plants producing electricity for households with an average annual consumption of 3250 kWh per year. These proposed alternatives are evaluated in terms of economic return of funds spent of setting up power plants.
