Title of the thesis:The impact of the basic sheet steel material´s surface on the properties of weld made by stud welding
Summary:This thesis is concerned with the stud welding regarding automobile body sheet with different surface conditioning. The aim of the thesis is to analyse and compare the properties of joints that have been welded on the sheet steel, corroded sheet steel and with zinc sheet as well. The theoretical part focuses on the effect of the rust and zinc on the welding's properties. Similarly, the fundamentals of the stud welding are outlined in this part. Subsequently, the materials that have been chosen and the process of the stud welding technology are described in the experimental part of this thesis. The stud welding was performed by using the machine --Tucker TSG 65 which is used by Volkswagen Slovakia, a.s. Eventually, the welded joints have been evaluated on the basis of the several methods: the metallographic analysis, "click-clack" strength test, the method that uses torque wrench, and the visual test.
