Title of the thesis: Weldability of Polypropylene with a mixed proportion of recycled material
Summary:Bachelor's thesis deals with the influence of the quantity recycled polypropylene weldability and mechanical properties of welds. The work is characterized by thermoplastic materials. Polypropylene is a compound resulting from polymerization of propylene. We know the 3 basic types of PP, which have their advantages and disadvantages in terms of heat resistance, brittleness, flexibility and toughness. In addition, they can be thermally processed. They can be welded, which is also affected by melt index and determines their general final use in everyday life, eg. in building industry, industry, households. Following are methods of recycling, weldability and welding thermoplastics. Properties of polypropylene with a mixed proportion of recycled material are different from the basic PP. Resort of my work was melt index, which takes in 25% recycled content a significant decrease. Despite of it, It can be welded, it mechanical properties show only a very small deviation from the original material. Welding technology is creating weld with good mechanical properties. There may appear defects of welds, which have their reasons- it can also be of poor quality separation before recycling. Defects welds are given in standard STN EN 14 728:2005 Deffects of welded joints of thermoplastics. Classification.
