The Faculty of Materials Science and Technology in Trnava; Institute of Applied Informatics, Automation and Mathematics. - Supervisor: prof. Dr. Ing. Oliver Moravčík.- Trnava: MtF STU, 2011. 93 p. Keywords: Software testing, software quality, UML, system testing This graduation thesis aimed at designing an automated software testing model for chosen testing techniques and strategies by using the UML language. Specific testing techniques are demonstrated on the designed information system. There is a need to test the system as a whole therefore in this graduation thesis we will focus on system testing. By using this type of testing we will verify if the system meets the future user's requirements. Chapter One deals with the current state in the field of software testing. The definition of software quality and some ways of assuring it are given. Main types of tests and single test phases are also mentioned. Chapter Two deals with the identification and analysis of a specific problem area. In this part the system to be tested is described in its current state, with its main functions and processes realized therein. Both functional and non-functional system requirements and testing targets and procedures chosen based on them are analyzed in this part. Chapter Three contains specific designs of chosen tests in UML, their descriptions and way of realization. Chapter Four is concerned with the verification of the designed solution. In this part it will be verified if chosen types of tests have been designed with regard to user's requirements. The result of this graduation thesis are the specific designs of chosen system automated tests in UML. This thesis meets the objectives and designed model of automated software testing can be usable for the future implementation.
