|Title of the thesis:||Effect of basalt powder on the properties of high-performance cement composites|
|Summary:||Advances in the development of new plasticizer allow the increased fluidity of fresh concrete to an extent that it is self-compacting while maintaining adequate consistency without segregation. Currently stone powders are beginning be added to concrete, designed to improve the certain properties of concrete. High amounts of dusting is a major problem in terms of liquidation, environmental pollution and health risks. Their use as mineral admixtures for concrete, could eliminate these problems to some extent. In this study are evaluated the effect of superplasticizer and basalt powder on properties of cement mortars. Effect of chemical and mineral admixtures has been studied in cement paste and mortar. Superplasticizer was dosed in an amount of 0.5 to 1.5% and in some cases to 3% by weight of cement. Basalt powder was added as a partial replacement of cement and aggregate in amounts of 5 - 30% by weight of cement. On fresh mortars was determined average of spillage, change of consistency with time, air content, bulk density of fresh mortar. On hardened mortar was determined the compressive strength, flexural strength, shrinkage, modulus of elasticity, porosity and amount generated hydration products. Obtained results have shown a positive impact of superplastifier on consistency and strength of mortars. It allows to reduce the amount of mixing water, while maintaining consistency. Basalt powder worked as a solid plasticizer at the optimal dose in mortar and in combination with superplasticizer significantly improved consistency. At the same time, its application has led to an increase in early age strength. Application of chemical and mineral admixtures reduced the volume and median radius of macropores. Basalt powder slightly increased volume of micropores as shown by increased shrinkage of mortars. But, this was compensated by superplasticizer, which reduced shrinkage.|
