Title of the thesis:The consumption of hot water and an energy balance of hot water´s preparation in apartment houses
Summary:The dissertation thesis The consumption of hot water and an energy balance of hot water's preparation in apartment houses deals with the preparation and distribution of hot water in apartment buildings. The thesis analyzes consumption of hot water in apartment buildings. The consumption of hot water is not constant during the day. It changes throughout the day. It is other in every day of the week and months of the year. There were made the experimental measurements in the several apartment buildings, where were measured the hot water's consumption per one inhabitant every hour during one year. Another aim of the thesis was to determine the energy balance of hot water 's system. It was analyzed the energy consumption of the preparation and distribution of hot water in an apartment building. There is made often a layoff of the energy supply in the hot water system in apartment buildings in Slovakia. The work analyzes the energy saving for such layoff. In order to save electricity in residential buildings is used to stop the circulation pump. The thesis analyses how the temperature of hot water decrease in the pipe, when the circulation pump is swiched off. The work desribes, how temperature 's decrease depends on the thickness of the thermal insulation and the dimensions of the pipe. The hot water is used to be prepared in storage water heaters. Nowadays, slovak national standard does not meet current requirements and storage water heaters designed according to this national standard are often too large. Therefore it was proposed a new methodology for a design of storage water heaters in apartment buildings, which is based on experimental measurements of the consumption of hot water in apartment buildings. The quality of supplied hot water is depending on the position of the flat in apartment biulding. The experimental measurements determined, how decreases the temperature of supplied hot water in dependence on the location of the apartment within a residential building. For a constructive discussion with citizens is necessary to know the initial state of the problem. The questionnaire survey was investigated how are different groups of people interested in the system for the preparation and distribution of hot water in their own home and what is the current state of hot water system in the Slovak households.
