Title of the thesis:	Examination of cultural heritage status in Historical museum SNM from paper conservation aspect
Summary:	Objects collected in museums of the Slovak Republic are part of national heritage. Current possibilities of preserving their good physical condition are insufficient. A procedure that should lead to improvement of this state was designed. The first phase was analysis of objects in the collection of Historical museum SNM (HM SNM), which consisted of an accurate status assessment and character of the collection, identification of objects in the collection on paper carriers from the technical parameters and damages aspect. The designed database should be used to create a possible solution to batch conservation of paper carriers using knowledge and results obtained from the KnihaSK project. Identification of individual objects of the collection on a paper carrier consisted of creation and progressive filling of the database. It contains identification data of individual objects of the collection (surface pH, presence of lignin, dimensions, inks, written text, period of creation, damage status...). Photo documentation is also a part of it. The database is based on the need of information about quality, diversity and technical parameters of collected museum value objects from the aspect of technology of their protection. It completes a complex database, which contains data about status of materials and objects of cultural heritage in the domain of the Slovak Republic. That is why it is still in development. Changes are forced by experience and the need to solve problems occurring during field work. Depository for objects on a paper carrier in the collection contains approximately 50 000 pieces which are characterized by their great diversity. Posters are one of the most numerous groups in the paper deposit. They belong to documents with big dimensions, which is a specific category from a technological standpoint. These are the reasons why posters were the first group processed into the database. To this day, more than 3 209 posters and 817 graphics have been identified. It is still being worked on improving the precision and objectivity of quantification methods used.
