Faculty of Materials Science and Technology in Trnava. Department of Foundry. Supervisor of thesis : prof. Ing. Alexander Čaus, DrSc. Consultant: Ing. Michal Boháčik The thesis is focuses on the study of solidification structure transformation of high-speed steels under heat treatment. In the introduction of this work are generally described the characteristics of high-speed steels, their chemistry, the main alloying elements, and finally the distribution of high-speed steels and their mechanical properties. The second chapter is devoted to a heat treatment of high-speed steels, which determines their final structure and ways of utilization in practice. The aim was to examine the microstructure of high-speed steels and to evaluate changes after heat treatment.
