For the experiment, there are available two flat end mill with diameter of 6 mm, which one is uncoated and the other is chemical - heat processed by applying a thin boriding layer. The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on the processing of literature in the field of milling, cutting wedge wear and general wear, as well as boriding process. The practical part deals with the design of the experiment, thus the design of tool material, machine selection, cutting conditions, etc. After designing the experiment, its implementation followed. The aim of this work is to compare the wear sizes of both mills in terms of the impact of applying boriding layers on these tools.
