|Title of the thesis:||Library Meditech, Bratislava - Interior|
|Summary:||The idea of submitted diploma thesis stems from the pre-diploma project based on the theme "Library Meditech and administration". The building is located on Špitálska Street in Bratislava. There are several universities nearby, especially Slovak Technical University and the Faculty of Medicine of the Comenius University. It was this central area well connected with public transportation and proximity to universities that inspired me to select the topic of the thesis. My intention was to create a place for the development of studies and in particular the availability of materials for this study. As the closest center of this purpose is located in Patrónka, I decided to build up so-called "branch" of the Slovak Centre of Scientific and Technical Information that should be right at hand for students who do not have to travel afterwards. When designing, I tried to create a spatial arrangement so as to not conflict library operations and those of administration. Within the diploma project, I looked more closely at the first floor - parterre where the marking on the floor immediately directs to various parts of the building. The central idea of the space concerned is the ECG waveform, which is a common factor for both doctors as well as for architects and builders. Doctors give life to people and architects create buildings and at the same time provide suitable conditions for life. This curve passes through the entire floor of the bookstore, information desk and multimedia section. But it mainly occurs in show-window. I colored the wave in red, since it stimulates blood circulation, promotes creativity and performance while counteracts fatigue which is important while studying. In combination with neutral or achromatic colors it stands comfortably. That's why I chose the red color as supplementary but at the same time accentuating. Otherwise, in most interior I used an achromatic grey and white color in combination with wood. As an important part of the project there are atypical individual counters, either in a bookstore cashier counter, information desk or workbench in the multimedia section. They are modelled in the same design, but adapted to their purpose. The aim of my diploma thesis was to design a space that would act integrally despite the fact that there are three different functions. I wanted to create a place that inspires, supports creativity and learning, but also a place for rest and meetings with friends.|
