|Title of the thesis:||The regional resilience and risk management|
|Summary:||The resilience of socio-ecological systems (or further only SESs) and capability of adaptability to global changes depend particularly on a quality of social capital, their capability of communication and cooperation on vertical and horizontal basis. The concept of spatial resilience is perceived as a capability of adequate respond to new challenges especially of regions and settlement systems. Integration of ecological and social systems, within their coexistence in landscape is affected by the approach humans take to nature, and their previous relationship between these natural and anthropological elements. Identification of an optimal governance structure with adequate sensitivity to feedbacks is important for improvement of spatial resilience. In this dissertation thesis, the reasoning was chosen based on a broader research of theory, and from outputs of field research for verification of concept of spatial resilience. It was determined that the development of the area in difficult times is significantly influenced by the ability to respond (flexibly, progresivity and adaptability) and by proper administrative structures of responsible institutions (according to legal relationships), by set of legal powers, by property ownership, by local knowledge, by preventative measures and also by severity of changes or disasters. Thus it is the complicated relationships in the territory, which are creating a favourable character of management, and which are measurable through properly chosen indicators. These selected indicators should be able to identify and to evaluate particularly the preparedness of an area, the capacity of the adaptability and the vulnerability to unexpected crisis events.|
