Title of the thesis:Contribution of the Application of Statistical Methods for Process Improvement in Industrial Enterprises
Summary:The habilitation thesis is treated as a set of published scientific papers supplemented with a commentary. The theme focuses on the meaning and application of statistical methods in business practice. Individual contributions provide insights into the different applications of statistical methods in various areas, respectively activities in an industrial enterprise and also some examples of the application of statistical methods to improve production processes in specific organizations in Slovakia. The scientific papers are divided on the basis of their content into three areas, with individual focus areas corresponding with solved research projects. In the first part of the dissertation are works, which provide insights into the different applications of statistical methods in various areas, respectively activities in the manufacturing company. The thematic area of the second group of works considers a method of planning experiments. In this part are the contributions focused on the application of DOE techniques to improve production processes, respectively the quality of products in specific organizations in Slovakia. The third area addresses a Six Sigma methodology, which currently represents an effective technique to improve some activities in an organization, but it is also considered as a philosophy and respectively a strategy of a successful organization.
