Title of the thesis:Evaulation of the quality of aquatic habitat in rural areas.
Summary:Ecological status of rivers is influenced by many factors, most important of which are the fauna and flora, which is usually most affected in the summer, during minimum discharges. In the years 2009, 2011 and 2012 was carried out research focused on hydro-ecological quality assessment of the reference sections of rivers Chotina, Bebrava and Nitrica. These rivers represent typical submountain streams. The basic objective of this study was from the aquatic habitat quality assessment results determine microhabitat characteristics, which constitutes an optimal environment of aquatic area also during the minimum discharges. Except generalized characteristics of bioindication, which is represented by suitability curves, was evaluated structure of characteristic habitats and their optimal representation, which results from the qualitative natural flow environment structure. For the habitat quality modelling was used RHABSIM (River Habitat Simulation System). The results obtained can be used for restoration projects. In this work is presented a specific restoration study example of the Bebrava River reach, in the centre of Timoradza village.
