Title of the thesis:Identification of the impact of interface elements in a web application on the behavior of a user
Summary:Authors of systems create them to be as effective as possible. Interface elements have a direct impact on user behavior. Thanks to this we are able to evaluate the effectiveness of elements in the interface. This is generally done in eye-tracking studies. We have designed one such study. For the application domain, we choose the AVW-Space adaptive video-learning system, from which we created a simplified version of the interface. We designed a comparative experiment with eye-tracking during which we were comparing the two versions of the interface. When designing the experiment, the emphasis was put on the creation of questionnaires, communication of instructions and technical side of the experiment. We successfully organized the experiment during five sessions with a sufficient sample of participants. Subsequently, in the data analysis, we evaluated the efficiency of the system in both versions of the interface. We also focused on pop-up nudge element, where we looked at how their impact affects user behavior. We have discussed in detail all the findings.
