Title of the thesis:Database and visualization system for model of warehouse system
Summary:The goal of this thesis was to create a database and visualization system for a chosen model of shelf warehouse management. The objective was to design and create an application which will provide a visual design of shelf warehouse system and to create a database which will contain records used by the application. Components of manufacturing technology stored in the warehouse shelf system will be searched based on various chosen criteria. Application will enable working with databases created in MS Access. This thesis consists of the actual application designed in Promotic and five databases. Separate databases are created for every type of manufacturing component and contain tables with records of information about the respective manufacturing components. The program contains a control panel which enables selection of a manufacturing component type and a criterium used to search for this component in the database. Every manufacturing component can be selected either based on its EAN code or directly from the list of manufacturing components stored in the system. After selection of the manufacturing component, the place where the respective manufacturing component is stored is indicated by an indicating light. Further information about the manufacturing component can be viewed upon scanning of a QR code visible at the indicated place in the stock warehouse. This information is also stored and can be viewed directly in the application. After picking selected manufacturing components from the warehouse, the number of pieces taken out from the shelf can be registered directly in the application. The actual number of pieces of the selected manufacturing component will be automatically updated in the application database. All set goals of the bachelor thesis were reached and the designed application simulates the process of search and monitoring of items in a shelf warehouse system. The value of this thesis and designed application lies in its actual use in practice since it helps increase productivity in a warehouse as the time needed to search for a stored item is minimal. At the same time, the application helps minimise the error probability during stocking items out of the shelf since the place from where the item needs to be stocked out is indicated with a light. Additionally, the application accommodates for monitoring of amounts of stored items according to the item type.
