Annotation: Coxiella burnetii, vysoko pleomorfná intracelulárna Gram negatívna baktéria, spôsobuje vo svete niekoľko ohnísk zoonózy Q horúčky ročne. Ľudská Q horúčka, ktorá sa zvyčajne rozvinie v dôsledku vdýchnutia infekčného aerosólu produkovaného domácimi zvieratami, vykazuje široké spektrum klinických prejavov. Úlohou je objaviť a charakterizovať špecifické biomárkery tejto baktérie - povrchovo-asociované, či sekrétované proteíny, ktoré interagujú s hostiteľom. Následne sa pripravia funkcionalizované nanočastice, ktoré sa využijú pri vývoji nového diagnostického nástroja založeného na laterálnom toku.
Annotation in English: Coxiella burnetii, a highly pleomorphic intracellular Gram-negative bacterium, causes multiple outbreaks of Q fever worldwide, each year. Human Q fever, generally resulting from inhalation of infectious aerosols produced by domestic animals, exhibits a wide spectrum of clinical manifestations. The main goal of the study is to identify and characterize specific biomarkers of this bacterium - surface-associated or secreted proteins that interact with the host. Then, functionalized nanoparticles will be prepared and further applications in the development of a novel diagnostic tool based on lateral flow
