Annotation: Proteíny prenášajúce lipidy majú v eukaryotických bunkách významnú úlohu spojenú s biogenézou bunkových membrán a s vnútrobunkovou signalizáciou. Jednou skupinou týchto proteínov sú fosfatidylinozitol transferové proteíny (PITP). V práci charakterizujeme niektoré kvasinkové PITP, ktoré majú vzťah k vnútrobunkovému prenosu lipidov a ktorých ovplyvnením sa dá modulovať citlivosť kvasiniek k antifungálnym azolovým látkam. Tým sa pokúsime prispieť k lepšiemu porozumeniu mechanizmov, akým spôsobom je regulované lipidové zloženie biologických membrán. Možným výstupom práce je aj ovplyvnenie vzniku rezistencie patogénnych kvasiniek k antifungálnej liečbe.
Annotation in English: Lipid transfer proteins play an important role in intracellular signalling and membrane biogenesis of eukaryotic cells. One group of these proteins is phosphatidylinositol transfer proteins (PITPs). We will characterize yeast PITPs connected to intracellular lipid transfer and resistance to azole antifungals. We will contribute to better understanding of the biomembranes biogenesis. Additional outcome of the project could be the possibility to eliminate the resistance of pathogenic fungi to antifungal therapy.
