Annotation: Hemicelulózy sú druhým najviac zastúpeným zdrojom organicky viazaného uhlíka na Zemi. Kvôli svojej zložitosti je na ich rozklad na monosacharidové stavebné jednotky potrebné široké spektrum enzýmov. Jedným z najúčinnejších producentov týchto enzýmov je drevokazná huba Schizophyllum commune. Napriek tomu, že niekoľko enzýmov produkovaných touto bielou drevokaznou hubou bolo izolovaných a ocharakterizovaných, nedávno osekvenovaný genóm tejto huby odhalil omnoho väčšiu mnohorakosť domnelých enzýmov katabolizmu hemicelulóz. Vyhľadávanie v genóme so zámerom identifikovať domnelé nové enzýmy, ich izolácia a charakterizácia ako aj lepšie porozumenie spolupráci medzi týmito novými a v súčasnosti už známymi enzýmami prispeje k nášmu úsiliu o účinné a ekologicky šetrné využitie tohto každoročne sa obnovujúceho zdroja uhlíka.
Annotation in English: Hemicellulose is the second most abundant source of organic carbon on the Earth. Due to its complexity a plethora of enzymes is required for its decomposition to its monosaccharide building blocks. One of the most efficient producers of these enzymes is a wood-rotting fungus Schizophyllum commune. Although several enzymes produced by this white-rot fungus were isolated and characterized, recently sequenced fungal genome revealed much higher diversity of putative hemicellulose catabolic enzymes. Genome mining with the aim to identify putative novel enzymes, their isolation and characterization as well as better understanding the cooperation between these new and known enzymes will contribute to our effort at efficient and environment-friendly utilization of this annually recovering carbon source.
