Annotation: Mikroplasty a ich komplexné správanie v životnom prostredí sú stále nedostatočne prebádanou oblasťou environmentálnej chémie. Mikroplasty, typicky definované ako syntetické polyméry s veľkosťou < 5 mm, sú v podobe malých granúl cielene aplikované do mnohých kozmetických prípravkov alebo vznikajú pri opotrebovávaní či degradácii makro výrob. Prítomnosť malých plastových fragmentov v otvorenom oceáne bola popisovaná už v 70. rokoch minulého storočia. Úsilie vedcov za poslednú dekádu však odhalilo, že sa jedná o široko rozšírenú skupinu kontaminantov vykazujúcu potencionálne toxický účinok na prítomnú biotu, vrátane ľudskej populácie. Taktiež vplyv mikroplastov na životné prostredie je v súčasnosti relatívne novou rýchlo sa rozvíjajúcou oblasťou environmentálnej problematiky, o čom svedčí množstvo odborných prác. V predkladanej dizertačnej práci sa bude študent zaoberať technologickými postupmi schopnými odstraňovať mikropolutanty z rôznych typoch vôd (najmä odpadové vody ako zdroj a pitné vody). Jedná sa najmä o oxidačné postupy, membránové technológie a ich možné aj spoločné modifikácie.
Annotation in English: Microplasms and their complex behavior in the environment are still an incomplete field of environmental chemistry. Microplasties, typically defined as <5 mm synthetic polymers, are in the form of small granules targeted to many cosmetic formulations or are produced by wear or degradation of the production macro. The presence of small plastic fragments in the open ocean has been described already in the 1970s. However, scientists' efforts over the last decade have revealed that it is a widespread group of contaminants that show a potential toxic effect on the biota present, including the human population. Also, the impact of microplasms on the environment is currently a relatively new rapidly evolving area of ​​environmental issues, as evidenced by a number of professional works. In the present dissertation the student will deal with technological processes capable of removing micro-pollutants from different types of water (especially waste water as source and drinking water). These are in particular oxidation processes, membrane technologies and their possible and common modifications.
