Annotation: Internet vecí predstavuje prostredie, ktoré obsahuje veľké množstvo navzájom komunikujúcich heterogénnych prvkov, ktoré sú často obmedzené z hľadiska fyzickej dostupnosti, výkonnosti alebo energie. Toto zvlášť platí pre koncové prvky senzorových sietí, ktoré sú neoddeliteľnou súčasťou Internetu vecí. Takéto prvky bývajú zvyčajne napájané batériou, príp. na svoju činnosť získavajú energiu z prostredia. Preto je neustále potrebné zvyšovať energetickú efektivitu takýchto prvkov, čím sa predĺži interval potrebnej výmeny batérie (resp. životnosť zariadení), alebo umožní integrovať viac funkcionality do zariadenia bez navýšenia energetickej náročnosti. V téme je možné sa zamerať na návrh zariadenia zvyšujúci efektivitu činnosti prvku pri samotnom spracovávaní informácií, alebo na energetickú efektivitu zabezpečenej komunikácie medzi prvkami Internetu vecí.
Annotation in English: The Internet of Things (IoT) represents an environment consisting of a great amount of intercommunicating heterogeneous nodes, which are often limited in terms of their physical reachability, performance, or energy. This is especially true for the end nodes of sensor networks, which are integral part of the Internet of Things. These nodes are usually powered by batteries or harvesting the energy from the environment. Therefore, it is still required to increase their energy efficiency, which prolongs the battery-replacement interval (or the device lifetime itself) or enables to integrate more functions into a single device without increasing its energy requirements. In this area, it is possible to focus on the IoT device design, increasing efficiency of node’s operation during data processing, or on the energy-efficient secure communication between various IoT nodes.
