Project description:The project is aimed on design of Al-TM metal aluminum alloys for on-board hydrogen production by hydrolysis,TM being Co, Ni, Pd, Rh. The goal of the theoretical part is to study the impact of chemical composition on electrochemical stability of aluminum alloys. By periodic DFT we will investigate the influence of chemical composition on electrode potential shift in alloys relative to pure aluminum. We will also examine the segregation of the given element, composition influence on adsorption energies of water and trends in electrochemical stability of alloy surface after the adsorption of water.
