|Project description:||Nowadays, some of the most significant development trends that can be found in systems and production in general are those related to: the product complexity, the increasing variability and flexibility of the process and products, the more complex constraints and requirements for the development and production of non-standard and special purpose equipment and the need for decreasing batch sizes.Thus, demands for rapid and comprehensive adjustment of production without significant loss of time become an imperative, and the use of Virtual Commissioning (VC) a useful tool that achieves significant time shortening between designs and real on-line implementation of these. The main aim of the project is to study simulation methods used in the design, development and improvement/optimization of manufacturing systems.
