Project description:Numerical simulation of non-standard industrial processes is becoming a real requirement of the future industry. Nowadays great effort is invested into development of material models, which are capable to describe the material behaviour during more complex processes such as material disintegration. The mathematical description of the task is not easy; it requires a large strain/large deformation formulation and contact interactions between large number of bodies have to be considered. The aim of the project is to propose a mathematical model for solid material disintegration simulation using the discrete element method.
