|Project description:||In overall there are 13.1 mil. pieces of threatened documents and manuscripts destined for preservation in the Slovak Republic. Every hand written letter or letter set containing transitional elements (mainly copper and iron) which cause and support destruction and degradation processes of supporting lignocelluloses materials. This project is focused on investigation of ageing process reactions and kinetics by modern optical and spectral methods. Gathered knowledge should contribute to material and method selection positively affecting the durability and capacity of historical documents and manuscripts preservation in feasible economical and ecological conditions.|
