Project description:Regulating hydropower plants are significant regulating part of electric supply systems. These power plants are above all mounted to cover the variable load. Hydropower plants are also exploited as failure backup of the network (performing the ancillary services). The efficiency of regulating hydropower plants dynamic properties are close related with optimization methods applied in the process of water management – energetic plans development. The solution of the problem has been approached by conventional (traditional) numerical or heuristic optimization techniques. The use of both approaches is often associated with difficulties. The goal of assumed project is to investigate the opportunities of combination of both numerical and heuristic approach (hybrid optimization) in operation planning of regulating hydropower plants. The aim of these two methods combination is the synergistic use of advantages of both approaches.
