Project description:The objective of the project is to elaborate and experimentally verify the models of bevior of electric systems where the superconducting conductors are used. The project aims at the quantitative assessment of the fundamental parameters focusing especially on the alternating current losses in the superconducting portions of the devices. It consists from four logically interconnectesd phases. The solution phases concentrate either on the suitable methods of simulation, further on the experimental set-up design and experimental assessment of the alternating current losses in the superconducting conductors carrying alternating current and being placed in the alternating magnetic field as well as on the design and realization and experimental testing of models of the electrical devices. It is neccessary to stadardize measurement procedures for the basic power system components (transmission line, transformer). Comparison of the experimental results with the results of simulations enables one to verify the suitability of the device models used, as well as the simulation methods.
