Project description:It is well known that gama aminobutyrate acid (GABA) is inhibiting neurotransmitter in the brain, however recently was found its different functions in a brain metabolism, or in non-nerve tissues. We have evidence, that enzymes of GABA metabolism, as well as transporting albuminous were found in fungi too, however metabolite function of GABA is not specificlz understood. In this project we develope our initial assignment, which showed, that GABA is major nitrogen metabolite in fibrous mycetes, but not indeed in yeast plants. We suggest experiments, outgoing from current hypothesis about GABA function, which would help to clear up a role of GABA in mycetes metabolism and fyziology.
