Project description:Project is oriented on finding suitable (environment-friendly and non-toxic) antioxidants and their concentration relations which are necessary for effective stabilization of polymers (e.g. polyisoprene, PVC, polyurethane, etc.). The stability of polymers with studied additives will be experimentaly investigated (DSC, spectral measurements). The materials suitable for application in medicine and food industry will be subjected to the gamma irradiation and the irradiation effect will be investigated. Finally, the possible mechanism of additive action will be sugested. As a part of our research is the study of dependence between effect and structure of used antioxidants. During the research the methods of computational chemistry (semiempirical methods INDO, AM1, PM3 and molecular dynamic) or neural networks will be intensively used.
