|Project description:||The design of the reactive distillation unit requires detailed knowledge of the reaction kinetics and equilibria of all reactions, vapour - liquid equilibria, and, in the case of the heterogeneous catalysis, knowledge of transport phenomena in the catalyst particle as well. Through the mathematical model describing the unit properly, it is possible to predict the changes of performance parameters switching the unit from one steady state to another one, to find out how to avoid such situation and how to set the initial parameters for start-up of the unit in order to reach the desired steady state, etc. The aim of the proposed project is to develop such model, to test it using the real data from literature, and to use it for safety analysis, mainly for multiple steady state identification, parametric sensitivity and response of the system to the changes of performance parameters.|
