Project description:The project deals with the problems of the electrochemical deposition of the spent nuclear fuel species. The fluoride melts containing the lanthanum compounds were chosen as model systems. The objective of the project is to find out the appropriate electrolyte, electrode materials and the others conditions influencing the electrodeposition with the lanthanum depolarization. For meaningful study it is required to obtain data on solubility and phase equilibria of the lanthanum compounds in fluoride melts and the electrochemical properties of the lanthanum compounds. On the basis of the obtained information the high-temperature electrolytic cell with exactly defined conditions will be constructed. The influence of the different conditions of the electrolysis as well as the influence of the pulse electrolysis will be found out.
