Project description:There are too many inappropriate solutions and results of illumination of historic buildings and sites in Slovakia, which are produced as the result of non-cooperation work of architects and light-technology specialists. According to encreasing interest of illuminations is the topic of this project very urgent. It is necessary to fil existed methodology gap with quality and equal co-operation. Artifilcial light is an important tool of architectural designing. It gives an opportunity to show basic characteristics of building and at the same time changes the meaning of building. It is well-founded to regulate these effects at monument presentation to express the culture and historic values of the historic building. The results of this project should set up a basis for co-operativ design methods between architectural and illumination -technical solution, to formulate the principles of floodlighting of historic sites which are still missing, accented to Slovak architectural heritage. Major criteria of floodlighting quality is presentation cultural and historic values. which included basic and constant illumination of buildings. Illumination of historic interiors, historic public spaces and artistic, short-term floodlighting are not researched. Theoretical and practical results (exact measurings and experimental illuminations) of the project will be published by systematic passport at the scientific, educational board.
