|Project description:||The concept of "small molecules" includes compounds having the molecular weight less than 5000 g.mol-1 (IUCr definition). This project deals with complex compounds, mainly of Cu(II), Co(II), Fe(II) and Fe(III), Ni(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), but also of other transition metal elements, exhibiting anticipated structure and, thus, also properties. Prepared new compounds will be examined from the point of view of catalytic, especially oxidation-reduction properties (complexes of iron with tertiary phosphanes, arsanes and their oxo-compounds), as well as from the point of view of eco-toxicological aspects. The prepared complexes will be investigated using all available methods (IR, UV VIS, NMR, EPR, X-ray single crystal and powder analysis) with the aim to formulate relations between composition and structure of the investigated complexes and their biological, catalytic and magnetic properties. This will contribute to meaningful preparation of new compounds having anticipated properties.|
