Project description:Renewal of historical ? cultural heritage structures requires usage of suitable materials to preserve authentic composition of the structures. The materials and techniques used should be compatible with the properties and appearance of the original structure. The research aim of the project is to design, prepare and test the pastes and mortars based on air limes and lime-pozzolan binders. Materials with pozzolanic properties of natural and technogenous origin and also waste materials will be selected for the research. Selected materials should be similar to those that mostly occur in masonry materials of historical structures. Test specimens will be made from pastes and mortars based on lime and lime-pozzolan binders and their properties will be tested. Properties of samples subjected to accelerated carbonation will also be determined.
