Project description:The main goal of the proposed project is to produce Single Wall Carbon Nanotubes (SWNTs) and use them for electronic devices. SWNTs will be produced by optimized Carbon-Arc method. Later this will be substituted by Arc-Jet method promising several advantages. The both metallic and semiconducting tubes are always present in the produced material. To use SWNTs in electronic nanodevices, first priority of the project is given to separate the metallic from semiconducting tubes mainly by means of dielectrophoresis. SWNTs will then be filled with varoius compounds. The final aim of the project is to build electronic nanodevices on the basis of individual filled and empty SWNTs in Field Effect Transistors (FETs) configuration as well as devices based on SWNTs networks. The process will be optimized for forming networks with well reproducible properties of requested thickness and orientation.
