|Project description:||The aim of the project is the design and experimental verification of a smart device which will serve as an intelligent physiotherapeutic aid in the process of recovery. Depending on the type of device used, the device will have the ability to adapt its behavior to the patient's disability and patient’s rehabilitation. In practice it means, that a different mode may be set for the same disability (fracture, post-operative condition) depending on the patient’s ability to use the device. The device will be able to learn, respectively train the correct movement patterns individually tailored to the patient, and guide the patient during the usage to use it correctly. The device will also collect long-time information about its use which are primarily intended for the rehabilitation specialist. Thanks to the fact that the device contains a set of sensors that collect information about the external conditions, their state and patient status (device user), implementation of machine learning elements, processing of measured data, communication with the superior system energy-independent solution - mark this device as smart or intelligent. In currently available rehabilitation aids are also built-in sensors, but provide only instantaneous status information to allow tracking selected parameters during rehabilitation exercises. For this reason, the authors' team considers it necessary to design and implement the principles of machine learning (situation recognition, classification) and control software in the selected aid. Thanks to algorithms implementing neural networks, aid in learning/training mode under the supervision of a physiotherapist can learn/train movement patterns that are designed for a patient with a particular disability.
