Project description:This project is integrated with the international project oriented on the liquidation of tsetse flies in Africa .Tsetse flies feed only on vertebrate blood and it must be irradiated to reduce bacterial contamination. In the present time the processing is done in a small gama irradiator(Research Institute in Seibersdorf). This process is too expensive and tolerable only for small collonies. Our major task is to developed and designed pasteurization equipment for processing of blood up to 50 l/h. This equipment should be simple in concept and the blood should be processed directly in slaughter house.
