Project description:The aim of the scientific project is to accumulate new knowledge in the field of growth of carbon nanotubes and autoemission from nanotubes ( i. e. emission caused by strong electric field). This is expanding the activities of the project which included our previous activities. The mechanism of creation of nanotubes will be studied further: The substrates should include conductive (Fe and Ni wires and tips), non-conductive (glass, saphire) and semiconducting (silicon) substrates. Analyses of prepared specimens with nanotubes will continue using RAMAN, SEM, TEM and AFM techniques, too. Calculations of distribution of gradient of electric field in the vicinity of emitting spots will continue, too. We shall devote an increased attention to the growth of oriented nanotubes in the electric field by using the CVD method. The magnitudes of electric fields will be optimised. Experiments of excitation of light by electrons coming from autoemission are planned to be done.
