Project description:The project is focused on experimental and theoretical investigation of irradiation effects on on structurally and configurationally complex phases of alloys and compounds (e.g. quasi-crystals, high-entropy alloys) as well as derived functional thin films. The aim of the project is on one hand investigating the effects of ion radiation on the materials studied, on the other hand use these effects for targeted synthesis of nanostructures and nanoparticles. Results of this research will provide important information on the irradiation response of the materials investigated as well as for the design of technological processes involved in thin film production. The resulting nanostructures and thin films have potential applications in chemical, nuclear, instrumentation and experimental technology
