This page shows details on the project. The primary projects are displayed together with a list of sub-projects.

Project description:The project deals with a development of new finite volume schemes for 3D image processing and 3D and 4D image sequence processing. The methods will be applied in practical situations of image filtering and segmentation. The mathematical models which will be solved by the finite volume methods are based on nonlinear partial differential equations. The nonlinear tensor anisotropic diffusion, the slow and fast diffusion effects and advective terms depending on external velocity field will be studied numerically. For all these models, the main goals are:-building of efficient serial and parallel implementation of suggested numerical algorithms, and-showing stability and convergence of designed 3D and 4D finite volume methods to the weak solutions of the corresponding partial differential equations.
