This page shows details on the project. The primary projects are displayed together with a list of sub-projects.
|Project description:||Survey of spectral and other optical properties of graphical objects of cultural heritage in the collections of Slovak National Library, Slovak National Archives and University Library in Bratislava will be performed. The obtained results will be used to develop the procedure of assessment and classification of the conditions of graphical objects of cultural heritage based on non-destructive measurements of spectral and other optical data. The non-destructive method of identification of brown-grey inks (iron gall inks, bistre and sepia inks ...) in historical drawings based on the VIS-NIR reflectance optical fibre spectroscopy will be developed. Processes of degradation of graphical objects of cultural heritage on paper and parchment support will be studied. The relations between composition of color and writing layers of these objects and course of ageing will be elucidated. The influence of stabilizing and conservation treatments on properties of graphical objects of cultural heritage will be studied.|
