|Project description:||The goal of the research is the study of the radiation degradation and activation of the metals and alloys (F/M steels and copper) for the new nuclear facilities (fusion reactor DEMO, HTR reactors, and accelerators). The observation of the microstructure changes in the reactor steels is based on the computer modeling of the charged and uncharged particles interactions, as well as the experimental observing of the radiation embrittlement using the light ions implantation. The verification of the models will be based on our previous experiences with radiation embrittlement of the WWER reactor steels and with the dosimetry measurements in our nuclear reactors in Jaslovke Bohunice and Mochovce supported with transport MCNP code analysis. The part of the project will be also the development of the supporting routines for the SRIM program, used for the ion implantation modeling. Identification of the type and depth profile of the defects will be based on the positron annihilation spectroscopy measurements (PAS LT) as well as other spectroscopy techniques.|
